This Blog records to some detail -- from start to finish -- the building of a PBK18 kayak during the month of August in 2010. It is based on a set of plans purchased in the late 60s; is simple to build from wood, glue, screws and canvas, but does require some carpentry skills. Rooftop Canoe Carriers are still for Sale in Canada
I recently noticed the rooftop carrier package sold at Canadian Tire - a popular Canadian Hardware and Automotive store that now includes a huge variety of items. The adjustable tie-down straps and integral hooks shown here I suspect would be quite superior to the former hook and rope arrangement for that.
